Best Spice Racks for Kitchen Counters, Walls and Cabinets
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Details
A search for spices and rack usually means one thing: a spice rack that fits the kitchen wall, counter or cabinet you have. The racks below are listed by placement, and the listings state jar counts, materials and dimensions for most of them. Only three state a shelf weight capacity, and none of the sources we opened can say whether a rack will carry a full collection of jars.
Quick answer
- Countertop, if you want jars you can turn and reach. The revolving racks in this guide hold 16 to 20 jars on a footprint of about 7 to 10 inches square. Check the stated diameter and height against your counter space first.
- Wall or cabinet, if the counter is full. The bamboo wall-and-counter rack, the wood wall rack and the pull-out cabinet organizer each use a different mount. Mounting depends on studs or rated anchors, and the cabinet unit depends on the cabinet opening.
- Capacity is the gap. Only three listings state a shelf weight capacity, and the stated figures do not say whether they are per shelf or total. Treat any weight figure as the listing’s claim, not a promise for a full row of glass jars.
How this guide is framed
The keyword spices and rack is vague. It could mean a kitchen counter rack, a wall-mounted spice shelf, a cabinet insert or a pull-out organizer. This guide treats it as a spice rack buying guide for a kitchen wall, counter or cabinet. Every product here is a spice rack or spice shelf. Products that are not spice racks, such as a general over-the-door pantry organizer, are left out. Section “How we chose” explains which listing was dropped and why.
Each product gets the same treatment: the stated specifications, a placement note, the situations where it may fit, a “Skip if” line and one stated limitation. We do not rank the racks by quality, and we do not state how any rack performs in use. We describe what each listing says and what the listing leaves out.
Comparison table
The table uses only the columns that the listings state for most products. Where a listing does not give a figure, the cell says “not stated.” Dimensions are shown as the listing gives them, in inches, and some listings give more than one figure for the same rack.
| Rack | Mounting (as stated) | Shelves or jars (as stated) | Material (as stated) | Dimensions D x W x H (as stated) | Shelf weight capacity (as stated) |

| Zri Bamboo Expandable 3-Tier | Countertop or under cabinet | 3 shelves, expandable | Bamboo | 7.7 x 22.2 x 4.29 (expands to 12.70 to 22.20 in long) | 14.4 ounces (labelled Shelf Weight Capacity) |
The table includes 11 racks. Two Tianifa listings (B09PB4JPRJ and B0BVQW846H) share the same stated dimensions and jar count, so compare them by the material line and the label count, not by the headline. The stated label counts differ between the two listings and within each one, as the product-by-product notes explain.
Product-by-product notes
Each block below uses the stated specifications from the listing. Where the listing does not give a figure, the block says so. Each product has a “Skip if” line and a limitation, followed by the product link.
1. Kamenstein Ellington 16-Jar Revolving Spice Rack Prefilled
The listing says:
- Material: plastic. Finish: powder coated. Color: clear.
- Product dimensions: 10.63 in D x 9 in W x 6 in H.
- Shelf type: tiered; number of shelves: 2; special feature: revolving.
- Mounting type: countertop. Room type: kitchen.
- Included components: refill. Item weight: 6 pounds.
- Includes 16 prefilled jars with removable sifter and labelled caps. Free refills are offered for up to 5 years if the rack is registered within 90 days; the listing says this applies to US residents.
- Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a countertop corner where a prefilled set is the goal and the cook wants all 16 jars on one turning base. The listing describes the rack as a countertop unit, so it does not address cabinet use.
Skip if you want to fill your own jars with your own blends, or if you need the rack to sit inside a cabinet. The listing’s spice names are said to “may vary,” so check the actual blends before you rely on them.
Limitation: the listing states jar count and dimensions but not the weight a full rack of jars can carry, and the refill offer depends on registration and on where you live.
2. Tianifa Black Countertop Revolving Spice Rack (B09PB4JPRJ)
The listing says:
- Material: glass and stainless steel. Finish: stainless steel. Color: black.
- Dimensions: 7.3 in square at the base, 13.4 in high, as the listing gives them.
- Shelf type: tiered shelf; number of shelves: 20; mounting type: tabletop.
- Included components: 1 funnel, 20 spice jars, 144 spice labels, 1 spice rack. The bullet text says 135 labels.
- Lid film: bright blue, peelable, per the bullet text. Jars are described as lead-free glass.
- Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a tall, narrow counter corner or a cabinet shelf where a 7.3-inch square footprint is the limit. The listing says the rack is portable, which suits a cook who moves it between counter and table.
Skip if you need a single fixed label count, because the two counts in the listing do not match. Also skip it if you want a rack that stays put on a busy counter, since the listing calls it portable.
Limitation: the listing gives 20 jars but no capacity per jar or per tier. The bullet text says the jars are empty and need to be filled.
3. Orii 16 Jar Rotating White Spice Rack
The listing says:
- Material: wood, described as white MDF. Finish: white. Color: white. Style: modern.
- Product dimensions: 7.4 in D x 7.4 in W x 10.89 in H. Item weight: 16 ounces.
- Number of shelves: 1 (the listing’s field); the bullet describes a rotating base with 16 jars.
- Included components: glass jars. The highlights say spices are included, with a 5-year refill program.
- Spices named in the bullet text include basil, bay leaves, cayenne pepper, oregano and paprika.
- Mounting type: tabletop. Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a counter in a kitchen with white or light cabinets, where a painted MDF base is the look the cook wants. The listing ties the finish to modern kitchens.
Skip if the rack will sit in a humid spot, since the listing describes MDF but does not state a moisture rating. Skip it also if you need a wall-mounted rack.
Limitation: the listing’s shelf count of 1 does not match a 16-jar rotating base described in the bullets. Read the product page photos and dimensions before you assume the layout.
4. Tianifa Black Countertop Rotating Spice Rack (B0BVQW846H)
The listing says:
- Material: glass, plastic and stainless steel. Finish: stainless steel. Color: black, 20 jars.
- Product dimensions: 7.3 in D x 7.3 in W x 13.4 in H.
- Shelf type: tiered shelf; number of shelves: 20; special feature: revolving.
- Included components: 1 funnel, 144 spice labels, 20 spice jars, 1 spice rack.
- Bullets describe a mini funnel and 135 labels; the component list says 144.
- Model number: spice rack-3. Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: the same counter footprint as the first Tianifa listing, for a cook who wants a stainless steel base and a slightly different material mix.
Skip if you need the label count to be exact, or if you want the tabletop listing wording, since this one lists the mount as countertop.
Limitation: this listing and the first Tianifa listing differ in stated mount and material but match on size. The listing does not say which version a seller will ship.
5. Thalomely 3-Tier Bamboo Spice Rack, Wall Mount and Countertop
The listing says:
- Material: bamboo, painted finish. Color: natural. Style: tiered shelf.
- Product dimensions: 5.11 in D x 15.74 in W x 16.53 in H. Item weight: 5.7 pounds.
- Number of shelves: 3. Per tier height: 5.9 inches.
- Mounting type: countertop or wall mount. The listing says screws and anchors are included.
- Shelf weight capacity: 5 pounds (labelled Shelf Weight Capacity).
- Spice jars are not included. The listing says the pictured jars are 110 mm high and 40 mm in diameter.
- Front and rear protective bars on each tier, and side handles for carrying.
- Assembly: the listing says all tools are included and assembly takes about 10 minutes.
- Material note: the listing says the bamboo is FSC certified.
Where it may fit: a wall beside a range or a countertop where you want the jars off the surface. The listing’s combination of wall screws and anchors makes it one of the few racks here that states its mounting hardware.
Skip if the wall is plaster or masonry and you do not have the right anchors, or if your jars are taller than the listing’s pictured jars. The stated 5-pound shelf capacity is light for a full row of glass jars.
Limitation: the listing does not say whether the 5-pound figure is per shelf or for the whole rack, and it does not state a wall load for the included anchors.
6. Kamenstein Heritage 20-Jar Revolving Spice Rack, Stainless Steel
The listing says:
- Material: stainless steel. Finish: brushed, black caps. Color: metallic gray.
- Product dimensions: 7.18 in D x 7.18 in W x 13 in H. Item weight: 6.4 pounds.
- Number of shelves: 20; shelf type: tiered; mounting type: tabletop.
- Includes 20 prefilled jars and a free refill offer for up to 5 years, with the same 90-day registration and US-residents condition as the Ellington listing.
- Removable sifter discs. Glass jars and labelled caps.
- Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a counter where a stainless steel look matches the appliances and the cook wants a 20-jar set with a small footprint.
Skip if you prefer a wall or cabinet mount. The listing lists a tabletop mount only.
Limitation: the listing gives a prefilled set and a refill offer, but it does not state how much of each spice each jar holds.
7. AllSpice Spice Rack Organizer, Wood, 60 Jars, Walnut Stain
The listing says:
- Material: bamboo glass, lacquered finish. Color: walnut stain. Style: American.
- Product dimensions: 4.75 in D x 24.75 in W x 15.9 in H. A bullet gives 24.75 x 15.63 x 4.75 inches, so the height and width differ between fields.
- Item weight: 25 pounds.
- Number of items: 60 jars; number of shelves: 6; mounting: countertop, cabinet or wall.
- Included: 60 4-ounce refillable glass jars with three lid types, 525 pre-printed labels, 35 blank labels and a paint pen. No spices included.
- Mounting hardware is included, and the listing says the rack can be installed vertically or horizontally.
- The listing says it requires a minimum 16-inch clearance from countertop to cupboards.
- Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a wall beside a range or a pantry door where a large jar count matters more than a small footprint. The listing gives the most detail on mounting of any rack in this guide.
Skip if you have less than 16 inches between the counter and the cabinets above, or if your wall cannot take a 25-pound unit. The listing’s weight is the unit’s own weight, and the listing does not state a load for the wall.
Limitation: the two dimension sets disagree, so measure the actual wall space before you order. The listing does not say whether the 25-pound weight includes jars.
8. THYEUISM Kitchen Stainless Steel Rotating Spice Rack with 20 Glass Jars
The listing says:
- Material: stainless steel. Color: golden. Special feature: 360 rotation.
- Product dimensions: 7.3 in D x 7.3 in W x 15.3 in H. Item weight: 3.38 kg.
- Number of shelves: 3 (bracket shelf). Mounting type: countertop.
- Included: stainless steel rack, silica gel funnel, silicone brush, spice stickers. The title gives 275 labels; the bullets say 275 in total across 9 pages plus a catalogue page.
- Jars: 20 food grade glass cans. The listing says it contains no spices.
- The bullet says the rack “will not easily tip over” and can stand upright.
- Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a counter corner that needs a stable, rotating base with a metal finish. The listing describes the unit as stable enough to stand upright in daily use.
Skip if you want a gold or brass look to match the rest of the kitchen, since the listing’s color is golden, or if you need the racks to mount to a wall.
Limitation: the listing’s stability wording is its own claim. The listing does not state a base weight, a load or a tip-over test.
9. DINDON Pull Out Spice Rack Organizer for Cabinet
The listing says:
- Material: 100 percent solid wood, polished finish. Color: wood. Style: minimalist.
- Product dimensions: 21.9 in D x 5 in W x 25.2 in H. Shelf type: pull-out shelf; number of shelves: 4.
- Mounting type: under cabinet. Includes drawer slides, hardware and a mounting template.
- Shelf weight capacity: 100 pounds (labelled Shelf Weight Capacity). A bullet says the rack “can hold up 100 lbs.” The listing does not say whether 100 pounds is per shelf or total.
- Slides: 3-section full-extension ball bearing, with soft close and anti-swing wheel.
- Cabinet fit: the listing says it needs at least 6.5 inches of cabinet net width, a minimum cabinet net depth of 23 inches, and was designed for 9-inch cabinets.
- The listing says each layer can hold at least 14 jars.
Where it may fit: a base cabinet or pantry opening that is at least 6.5 inches wide, where the cook wants the jars out of the back of the cabinet and onto a slide.
Skip if the cabinet opening is narrower than 6.5 inches, shallower than 23 inches, or not the 9-inch cabinet the listing describes. Skip it also if the cabinet has a frame that would block the slides.
Limitation: the listing gives a 100-pound figure but does not say whether it is per shelf or total, or how it was measured. The listing says the rack mounts under a cabinet, so it does not describe a wall mount.
10. Chunful Vintage Pink Wood Spice Rack, Wall Mount
The listing says:
- Material: wood. Color: pink. Style: sweet scalloped.
- Product dimensions: 18.11 in D x 15.16 in W x 2.95 in H. Item weight: 7.5 pounds.
- Number of shelves: 4 (tiers); the highlights say 4-tier for 24 jars.
- Mounting type: wall mount. The listing also says it can be placed on a countertop.
- Included components: hardware. The bullet says sawtooth hooks and installation tools are included.
- Finish: non-toxic coating, per the bullet text.
- Shelf weight capacity: not stated.
Where it may fit: a wall in a kitchen where the look is decorative and the cook wants a wood rack with a soft color.
Skip if you want a rack with a stated load for the wall. The sawtooth hook is the listing’s only mounting method named, and the listing does not state the hook’s rating. Skip it also if the wall is plaster or masonry.
Limitation: the listing describes a non-toxic coating in marketing terms. We did not open a certificate or test report for that coating, so the claim stays with the listing.
11. Zri Bamboo Expandable 3-Tier Spice Rack Kitchen Cabinet Organizer
The listing says:
- Material: bamboo, polished finish. Color: yellow. Style: adjustable.
- Product dimensions: 7.7 in D x 22.2 in W x 4.29 in H. Item weight: 350 g.
- Expands to a length of 12.70 to 22.20 inches; the listing gives 7.70 in W and 4.30 in H for the size range.
- Number of shelves: 3. Mounting type: countertop or under cabinet.
- Shelf weight capacity: 14.4 ounces (labelled Shelf Weight Capacity). The listing does not say whether this is per shelf or total.
- Shelf depth: 2.28 to 2.56 inches, which the listing says fits most spice jars.
- The listing says to place it horizontally, not vertically, and to wipe it clean and never submerge or put it in a dishwasher.
Where it may fit: a shallow cabinet or a narrow counter strip where a slim, expandable shelf is the goal, and where the cook will use smaller jars or bottles.
Skip if your jars are wider than the listed 2.28 to 2.56 inch shelf depth, or if you need the rack to hold heavy jars. The 14.4-ounce capacity is small compared with the glass jars in the other racks.
Limitation: the listing says the rack is “Unit Count: 3 Count” and lists add-on units, so the number of units in a full set is not clear. Check whether the capacity figure refers to one tier or the full rack.
Wall mounting: studs, anchors and wall type
Five racks in this guide mount on a wall or under a cabinet: the Thalomely bamboo rack, the AllSpice wood rack, the Chunful wood rack and the DINDON cabinet unit. Each listing gives different mounting information, and none gives a complete load rating for the wall.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s 2015 report on anchoring furniture and televisions without tools covers this problem well for heavier pieces. Its wording applies to a spice rack by the same logic. The report says that drywall “cannot typically withstand a 50 lb. pull force, as required by the current voluntary standard,” and that “a wood screw is usually provided and must be installed in a stud.” It adds that “drywall anchors are strongest when pulled at an angle parallel to the wall.” A spice rack loaded with glass jars pulls down and away from the wall, which is the direction the report calls hardest for a drywall anchor. Source: CPSC, Preliminary Evaluation of Anchoring Furniture and Televisions Without Tools, May 2015, opened 2026-10-27 by curl.
Based on that report, a wall mount should go into a stud where possible. If the rack must sit between studs, use a fastener that the anchor maker rates for the load, and read the hardware notes of the rack you buy. The Thalomely listing says screws and anchors are included, but the listing does not state the anchor type or its load. The AllSpice listing says mounting hardware is included, with instructions, but it does not state a load for the wall. The Chunful listing names sawtooth hooks and does not state a load for them.
Check the wall type before you drill. Drywall, plaster and masonry are different materials and do not take the same anchor. The sources we opened do not give a rating for each wall type, and the listings do not name the wall types they assume. If you cannot find a stud, use the anchor the rack maker supplies and stay within what the listing says, and do not assume a load the listing does not give.
Mount the rack above the range only if the listing allows it. The Thalomely and AllSpice listings say nothing about heat, so keep the rack away from the cooking zone, as the spice storage guidance below explains.
Counter and cabinet placement
The three placements in this guide each suit a different kitchen. A countertop rack needs visible space and a flat base. A cabinet rack needs a clear opening. A wall rack needs a stud or a rated anchor. Choose the placement first, then check the listing for the fit.
For countertop racks, check the diameter and the height against the cabinet above. The Kamenstein Ellington listing gives a footprint of 9 inches wide and 10.63 inches deep, and the Tianifa racks give 7.3 inches square with a height of 13.4 inches. The THYEUISM rack is 15.3 inches tall. Measure the clearance under any upper cabinet before you buy a tall rack.
For cabinet and pull-out racks, the DINDON listing gives the widest set of fit notes: at least 6.5 inches of cabinet net width, a minimum cabinet net depth of 23 inches, and a design for 9-inch cabinets. The Zri Bamboo listing says to place its shelf horizontally, and to keep the depth of each shelf between 2.28 and 2.56 inches. Measure your jars against that depth. Taller jars will not sit correctly.
Keep spices away from the stove and from the sink. Penn State Extension says that “spices and herbs should be stored in airtight containers in dry places away from sunlight and heat,” and it adds: “Placing the spice rack above the stove quickly reduces the quality of those flavorings.” Texas A&M AgriLife Extension gives the same placement advice, saying to store spices in a dark place such as a cabinet or drawer, and to avoid areas near a sink or heating vent. That advice affects where a rack should go. A rack above the cooktop is the wrong place even if the listing shows a good fit.
Spice storage basics that affect the rack
Storage is a good reason to buy a rack, and the rack can also make spices age faster if it sits in the wrong place. Penn State Extension says spices and herbs keep their quality longer in airtight containers, and that whole spices and herbs keep their quality longer than ground ones. It recommends checking the aroma of ground spices and all herbs after six months, and replacing any that have lost their characteristic smell. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension says that “many spices can last years past their ‘Best by Date’,” and gives whole spices 3 to 4 years and ground spices 2 to 4 years, with a note that these figures come from a third-party source it cites. Both sources point to the same practical rule: keep the jars sealed, keep them dry and keep them out of the light.
This affects the jar choice. Glass jars with tight lids are the most common in this guide, and the listings describe them as clear or as sealed. A clear jar lets you see the level, but it also lets light reach the spice. A cabinet rack or a wall rack that sits in a dark spot can help. Penn State’s point about light and heat is a reason to keep a clear-jar counter rack away from a window or the range.
The rack will not stop spices from aging. It only keeps them in view and within reach. If the jars sit in the wrong place, the rack does nothing for freshness. Buy the rack for access, then manage the spices as the sources describe.
How we chose
We started from a search for spice racks and read the listings for 12 products on 2026-10-27. The listings were read on that date and reflect the stated specifications at that time. The search returned 95 results across 23 brands, and we kept the products that fit the stated focus: a spice rack or a spice shelf for a kitchen counter, wall or cabinet.
The criteria were plain. A product had to be a spice rack or spice shelf. It had to state a placement the reader can use (countertop, tabletop, wall or cabinet). Its stated specifications had to include dimensions or a jar count, so the reader can check fit before buying. We described each rack’s stated mounting, jar count and material, and we did not rank the racks by quality.
We left out one product. The POKIPO over-the-door pantry organizer (B0DDH49H97) has “Spice Rack” in its title and is marketed as a hanging seasoning shelf. Its listing describes an over-the-door pantry organizer with eight baskets and door hooks, and it is built for doors 0.8 to 1.9 inches thick. It is a general pantry organizer rather than a spice rack, and it depends on the door and the cabinet. We dropped it for that reason, and we did not describe it in the product notes.
Eleven products remain. Two of them are close copies in the listing data (the two Tianifa racks), and we kept both so the reader can see the differences in the stated label count and material. Where two listings disagree, we show both figures, as the AllSpice dimensions and the Tianifa label counts do.
What we could not verify
The listings state most of the figures in this guide. The sources we opened do not cover the rest, and we do not fill those gaps.
- Weight capacity. Only three listings state a shelf weight capacity (Thalomely 5 pounds, DINDON 100 pounds, Zri Bamboo 14.4 ounces). None says whether the figure is per shelf or total, and none states how it was measured. We cannot confirm any of the three.
- Wall loads. No listing states a load for the anchors, screws or hooks it includes. The CPSC report explains why drywall is a weak point, but it does not give a rating for a spice rack anchor.
- Dishwasher and cleaning. Only the Zri Bamboo listing gives cleaning instructions, which say to wipe it with a damp cloth and never submerge it. Other glass jars and lids are not covered by a cleaning statement.
- Jar and spice quality. The prefilled racks name spices, but the listings do not state the source, the grind or the date packed. The Kamenstein listings describe a refill offer that depends on registration and US residence.
- Warranty and returns. Several listings describe a satisfaction guarantee or a replacement policy. We did not open the seller’s policy, and the listing wording is the only source.
- Actual fit. A dimension is a dimension. We cannot say whether a particular cabinet or counter will take a given rack, and the reader must measure.
Buying checklist
- Choose the placement first: countertop, wall or cabinet. Each placement changes which racks you can consider.
- Measure the space, not the rack. For a countertop, measure the footprint and the height under the upper cabinets. For a cabinet, measure the net width and net depth of the opening.
- Check the stated jar count and the jar size. Compare the listing’s shelf depth or tier height with the jars you already own.
- For a wall mount, find a stud or choose anchors rated for the load. Confirm the wall type first: drywall, plaster or masonry.
- If a listing gives a weight capacity, write down whether it says per shelf or total. Do not assume the other.
- Look for the mounting hardware in the listing. Thalomely and AllSpice say hardware is included. Chunful names sawtooth hooks and says installation tools are included.
- Read the material line. Wood, bamboo, MDF, glass and stainless steel behave differently in a damp kitchen, and the listings describe each one differently.
- Keep the rack away from the range and the sink, as the storage guidance above explains.
Mistakes to avoid
- Using the Tianifa label count as final. The Tianifa listings give 135 labels in the bullets and 144 in the component list. Use whichever figure the package in hand shows.
- Assuming a wall rack will hold a full row of jars. The Thalomely listing states 5 pounds for a shelf weight capacity, and the wall mount depends on the anchor. A full rack of glass jars can exceed the figure.
- Trusting one AllSpice dimension. The listing gives two sets of dimensions that disagree on height and width. Measure the wall first.
- Mounting above the stove. Penn State Extension says a spice rack above the stove reduces the quality of the spices. Choose another wall.
- Buying a cabinet unit without measuring the opening. The DINDON listing requires at least 6.5 inches of cabinet net width and a 23-inch net depth. A narrower opening will not take it.
- Ignoring the glass lids. Clear glass lets light reach the spice, and the sources recommend a dark, dry place.
FAQ
What is the best spice rack for a kitchen counter?
The racks in this guide that the listings describe for a countertop are the Kamenstein Ellington, both Tianifa racks, the Orii, the Kamenstein Heritage and the THYEUISM rack. Choose by jar count, material and footprint. The listings do not say which one performs best, so measure your counter and pick the size that fits.
Can a spice rack go on a wall?
Yes, for the racks the listings describe as wall mounts: the Thalomely bamboo rack, the AllSpice wood rack, the Chunful wood rack and the Zri Bamboo rack when placed under a cabinet. Find a stud where possible. The CPSC report says drywall anchors are weakest when pulled straight out from the wall, which is how a spice rack loads its screws. Use anchors rated for the load if there is no stud.
How much weight can a spice rack hold?
Only three listings state a shelf weight capacity: Thalomely (5 pounds), DINDON (100 pounds) and Zri Bamboo (14.4 ounces). None says whether the figure is per shelf or total. For the other racks, the listing does not state a capacity, so do not assume one.
How many jars does a typical spice rack hold?
The listings state between 16 and 60 jars. The Kamenstein Ellington and Orii racks hold 16, the Tianifa and Kamenstein Heritage racks hold 20, the Chunful rack is described for 24, and the AllSpice rack lists 60. The Zri Bamboo rack holds jars across three shelves, and its shelf depth is between 2.28 and 2.56 inches.
Do spices go bad in a rack?
Spices lose flavor more than they spoil. Penn State Extension recommends airtight containers in dry places away from sunlight and heat, and it suggests checking ground spices after six months. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension says many spices last years past the best-by date. A rack that sits in the light or above the stove will shorten that time.
Should a spice rack go in a cabinet or on the counter?
Use a cabinet if you want the jars out of sight and the counter clear, and the cabinet has room for the rack. Use the counter if you cook often and want the jars within reach. Both placements can work. The Penn State and Texas A&M guidance favors a dark, dry spot away from heat, which a cabinet often provides.
Are the free refills on prefilled racks guaranteed?
The Kamenstein listings describe free refills for up to 5 years if you register the rack within 90 days. The listing says the offer applies to residents of the US. We did not open the registration terms, so check them on the packaging before you rely on refills.
Bottom line
Choose the placement before the rack. A countertop rack needs a footprint and a clear height. A cabinet rack needs a net width and a net depth that match the listing. A wall rack needs a stud or an anchor rated for the load, and the listings do not state that load for the wall. For most kitchens, a countertop rack with a stated jar count and a stated footprint is the simplest starting point. For a wall, look for stated hardware and measure the wall before you order.
