Best Arched Bookshelf: Listing Specs and Buying Checklist
The person typing arched bookshelf wants a tall open shelving unit with a curved top, and wants to know whether it will fit, how much each shelf can carry and whether it needs to be anchored. The four listings we read on 2026-10-27 answer those questions only in part. Two state a weight limit, one states a per-shelf figure, and none states a wall-mount requirement in the specification table, although all four units are freestanding tall units and should be anchored. Use the figures below as the listing’s own claims, check them against your wall, and treat any tall unit as a tip-over risk until it is fixed in place.
Quick answer
- An arched bookshelf is a tall freestanding unit with a curved or arched top. The name describes the top; the shelves are usually flat boards.
- Of the four products below, the 5-tier HOOBRO and the 76-inch Bestier state a per-shelf weight figure. The SunnyFurn and Armocity listings do not state one.
- Every tall unit should be anchored with the anti-tip hardware in the box, fastened to a wall stud or a rated anchor. The CPSC guidance cited below explains why the anchor fastens to the stud, not to drywall alone.
- Measure the wall width and the clearance in front before ordering. The listed depth and width differ between some product sections, so measure rather than rely on one figure.
Comparison table
Only columns the listings state are shown. “not stated” means the listing does not give that figure in the text or specification table we read.
| Product (ASIN) | Brand | Listed product dimensions | Listed shelves | Listed weight capacity | Anti-tip hardware | Assembly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6-Tier Arched Bookshelf with Drawer (B0HGR3J9ZN) | SunnyFurn | 29.92 in D x 11.81 in W x 71.65 in H (table); 31.5 in W (bullet) | 6 | not stated | not stated | not stated |
| 5 Tier Open Bookshelf, Industrial Arched Bookcase (B0C5DH86H5) | HOOBRO | 11.8 in D x 16.9 in W x 69.3 in H | 5 | 30 lb (listed per shelf) | Included (Anti-Tip Kit) | Tool-free per listing |

How we chose
We read Amazon search results for the phrase “arched bookshelf” and then opened individual product pages on 2026-10-27. We set aside sponsored results and kept non-sponsored results whose titles described an arched or curved top. We opened five of those pages. One redirected to a different listing when we reloaded it, so we did not use it. That leaves four products with usable text.
We recorded the title, brand, bullet text and specification table for each product. We left out prices, customer ratings, review counts, badges and sales-rank figures, because they change often and do not describe the unit. Where the bullet text and the specification table disagree, we show both figures rather than pick one. We did not rank the four products by quality, because the listings do not give us a basis for that.
We considered four products in total: three arched-top units and one narrow arched unit. We did not include a shoe cabinet with an arched top, because its listing describes storage cabinetry rather than a bookshelf, and we did not include a sponsored result.
What the listings say, product by product
SunnyFurn 6-Tier Arched Bookshelf with Drawer (B0HGR3J9ZN)
This is a freestanding engineered-wood unit with an arched top, six adjustable shelves and one drawer. It is the largest unit in this group by listed weight, at 79.5 pounds.
The listing says:
- Material: engineered wood; shape: arched; mounting type: floor mount; style: modern
- Number of shelves: 6; number of drawers: 1; special feature: drawer
- Product dimensions: 29.92 in D x 11.81 in W x 71.65 in H (table); the bullet text gives 71.65 in H x 31.5 in W x 13.78 in D
- Item weight: 79.5 pounds
- Included components: rod. Installation type: freestanding.
- The listing does not state a weight capacity, and does not state whether anti-tip hardware is included.
Skip if you need a per-shelf weight figure to plan heavy books, or if you plan to place the unit against a wall where you cannot reach a stud, because the listing gives no anchoring instruction we could verify.
Limitation: the width is given two ways that do not match, 11.81 in in the table and 31.5 in in the bullets. Measure before you buy.
HOOBRO 5 Tier Open Bookshelf (B0C5DH86H5)
This is a 5-tier unit made of engineered wood with metal parts. The title calls it an arched bookcase, and one bullet says its arc top adds stability. The specification table, however, gives the shape as rectangular, so the arch claim comes from the title and bullet only.
The listing says:
- Product dimensions: 11.8 in D x 16.9 in W x 69.3 in H; 13 in spacing between tiers (bullet text)
- Number of shelves: 5; shelf type: tiered
- Weight capacity: 30 pounds maximum, listed per shelf in the bullet: “Each shelf can hold up to 30 lb”
- Package contents: 1 bookshelf, 1 accessory kit, 1 anti-tip kit, 1 set of instructions
- Minimum required door width: 26.6 inches; item weight: 22.9 pounds
- Assembly: the bullet says it “requires no installation tools”
Skip if you want a shelf that carries heavy items, or if the arched top matters to the look of your room, since the specification table lists the shape as rectangular.
Limitation: the listing describes the top as an arc in one place and as rectangular in another. The 30 lb figure is the listing’s own claim.
Bestier 76 Tall Arched Bookshelf (B0GXKV8TV5)
This is the tallest unit in the group at 75.55 inches, with five open shelves and two height positions for the adjustable shelves. It is the only product in this group whose listing gives a weight figure and a care instruction that explicitly ties that figure to each shelf.
The listing says:
- Product dimensions: 15.08 in D x 30.08 in W x 75.55 in H
- Shape: arched; number of shelves: 5; special feature: adjustable, anti slip, durable, scratch resistant, space saving
- Weight capacity: 33 pounds maximum; the care text says “Do not exceed 33 lbs per shelf”
- Included components: adjustable shelves, anti-tip kit, arched bookshelf frame, assembly hardware and instructions, non-slip foot pads
- Care text: “Anchor to wall for safety, Check anti-tip anchor monthly.”
- Manufacturer warranty: 1 year
Skip if you have a narrow wall of less than 30 inches, or if you cannot fasten the anti-tip kit to a stud, because the listing tells you to anchor the unit.
Limitation: the specification table gives 33 pounds as a maximum without saying per shelf, while the care text says per shelf. We use the care text reading and show both.
Armocity 71 in Tall Narrow Arched Bookshelf (B0HG16GWZB)
This is a narrow unit with six tiers and an arch described as a crown detail on top. Its listed width is 15.7 inches, so it suits a narrow alcove or a gap beside a window better than the wider units above.
The listing says:
- Product dimensions: 12.6 in D x 15.7 in W x 70.9 in H
- Number of shelves: 6; shelf type: accent shelf; shelves are height-adjustable by about 2.6 in (bullet text)
- Item weight: 41.7 pounds
- Included components: hardware. Installation type: freestanding.
- Shape in the specification table: rectangular. The title and bullets describe an arched silhouette.
- The listing does not state a weight capacity and does not state anti-tip hardware.
Skip if you need a per-shelf weight figure or if the listing’s missing anti-tip information is a deal-breaker for a unit this tall.
Limitation: the width is given as 15.8 in in one field and 15.7 in in another. The bullets also describe a 15.6 in footprint. Confirm against your space.
Spec notes you should check before buying
The four listings do not use the same measurements. For each one, the listing gives a product dimension in the specification table and sometimes a different figure in the bullet text. We show both figures in each block above so you can see the conflict. The table below gives only the figures a shopper can compare directly.
| Figure | HOOBRO | Bestier | SunnyFurn | Armocity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Listed height | 69.3 in | 75.55 in | 71.65 in | 70.9 in |
| Listed width (table) | 16.9 in | 30.08 in | 11.81 in | 15.7 in |
| Listed depth (table) | 11.8 in | 15.08 in | 29.92 in | 12.6 in |
| Listed weight limit | 30 lb per shelf | 33 lb (care text: per shelf) | not stated | not stated |
Two points stand out. First, the SunnyFurn table lists a depth of 29.92 inches, which is far deeper than the 11.81-inch width given in the same table. A deep unit with a narrow front may be a listing error, or it may be how the product is oriented; the listing does not say which. Second, the HOOBRO and Bestier figures differ in what they describe, so compare them only after measuring your own wall.
Wall, anchoring and tip-over
A tall arched bookshelf is a freestanding unit that can tip when loaded at the top or pulled from the front. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has published work on this problem. Its report, Preliminary Evaluation of Anchoring Furniture and Televisions Without Tools (CPSC/EXHR/TR-15/001, May 2015), states that “a wood screw is usually provided and must be installed in a stud.” The same report says drywall anchors “are strongest when pulled at an angle parallel to the wall,” and that the usual anti-tip strap “is usually intended for the consumer to attach” with two screws. The report also says staff “was unable to find any furniture anchors available for purchase that did not require tools for installation.”
In practical terms, this means the anti-tip kit should be fastened into a stud when one is available. If there is no stud where you want the unit, use a rated anchor for your wall type, and read the anchor’s own weight rating. Do not assume a generic plastic anchor will hold a loaded tall shelf. The listings do not give a load rating for their anchor hardware, so we cannot state one.
Check your wall type before you drill. Drywall, plaster and masonry each take a different anchor. A stud finder shows where the framing is. The CPSC report says drywall “cannot typically withstand a 50 lb. pull force, as required by the current voluntary standard,” which is one reason it describes screws into framing as the usual approach.
The Bestier listing gives its own instruction to anchor the unit to the wall and to check the anti-tip anchor each month. The HOOBRO and Armocity listings do not give a monthly check, but the HOOBRO package includes an anti-tip kit. The SunnyFurn listing does not state whether an anti-tip kit is included, so do not assume one.
Buying checklist
- Measure the wall width, the height to the ceiling or the top of a door, and the clearance in front. Compare against the listed product dimensions, and against both figures if the listing gives two.
- Decide what you will put on the shelves. If it is heavy, look for a per-shelf figure. Only the HOOBRO and Bestier listings state one.
- Confirm the anti-tip hardware is in the box. The HOOBRO and Bestier listings say it is included. The others do not say.
- Locate a wall stud before you drill, and plan the anchor point. Use a rated anchor for your wall type where a stud is not available.
- Check whether the listing requires tools. HOOBRO says it does not; the Bestier listing includes hardware and instructions; the Armocity listing includes hardware.
- Measure the depth of the unit against the wall space, because the listed depth can be larger than the width in some products.
- Check the shape you want. The arch is described in the title and bullets for three of the four products, but the HOOBRO and Armocity tables list a rectangular shape.
Mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the weight figure applies to the whole unit. The Bestier care text ties 33 pounds to each shelf, but the table reads like a total. Plan on the lower reading until you confirm it.
- Skipping the anchor because the unit is light. The CPSC report is about tip-over risk, which depends on height and load, not only weight.
- Trusting one dimension. The SunnyFurn table gives a depth of 29.92 inches and a width of 11.81 inches. A single figure hides a conflict like that.
- Placing a tall unit on a wall without a stud. Drywall alone is not a safe anchor for a loaded tall unit, according to the CPSC report.
- Buying on the arch alone. Three listings describe an arch, but the Armocity and HOOBRO tables list a rectangular shape. Look at the photos and the specification table together.
FAQ
What size are arched bookshelves?
The four listings in this guide state heights from about 69 to 76 inches and widths from about 11.8 to 31.5 inches, with some conflicts between the table and the bullet text. Compare the listing’s own product dimensions rather than assuming a shared footprint.
Do arched bookshelves need to be anchored to the wall?
Tall units can tip. The Bestier listing says to anchor the unit to the wall and check the anti-tip anchor monthly. All four are tall freestanding units. Use the anti-tip hardware in the box and fasten it into a stud or a rated anchor for your wall type.
How much weight can each shelf hold?
Only some listings state a limit. The HOOBRO listing states 30 pounds per shelf, and the Bestier care text states 33 pounds per shelf. The SunnyFurn and Armocity listings do not state a per-shelf figure.
Are arched bookshelves good for a small room?
Narrow arched units with a listed width near 15 inches suit tight spaces. Check the depth and the clearance in front of the unit, because the listed depth may be larger than the wall space you have.
Do I need tools to assemble one?
It depends on the model. The HOOBRO listing says it requires no installation tools. The Bestier and Armocity listings include hardware and instructions. Read the package contents before you buy.
Why do the dimensions in some listings not match?
Some listings give a width in the bullet text that differs from the width in the specification table, and some list the shape as rectangular while the title describes an arch. We show both figures and leave the conflict unresolved. Measure your wall before you order.

What we could not verify
- Whether any stated weight figure holds under load. We read the listings; we did not check the claims against any other source.
- Whether the SunnyFurn and Armocity units include anti-tip hardware. Their listings do not say.
- The correct width and depth for the SunnyFurn unit, and the true shape of the HOOBRO unit. The listings conflict and the sources we opened do not settle it.
- Anchor load ratings for any hardware. The CPSC report describes the usual anchoring approach but gives no rating for a specific anchor, and the listings do not give one.
- Whether the four products are the only arched bookshelves on Amazon. We read one search results page.
Bottom line
Pick the arched bookshelf whose listed width, depth and height fit your wall, and whose weight figure matches what you plan to store. Then fasten it to a stud or a rated anchor with the hardware in the box. The HOOBRO and Bestier listings give the most usable weight figures, while the SunnyFurn and Armocity listings give dimensions but no per-shelf limit. Measure first, every time.
